Jay Voorhees was appointed as the coodinating pastor of the Northfield United Methodist Parish in July of 2024. Jay also serves in a similar role at the Trinity UMC in Montpelier, and Grace UMC in Plainfield. Prior to coming to Vermont, Jay pastored churches in the Nashville, TN area for 25 years, spending the last 10 years as the lead pastor of the City Road Chapel United Methodist Church. Jay was recognized as a leader in addressing issues of homelessness and poverty throughout Nashville, and founded Southeast Flood Recovery (now The Branch) in 2010 in the wake of severe flooding in Nashville. Jay is married to Mary and together they have three adult children living in various parts of the country.
